YouTube Clip of the Month: Ser Pounce’s Big Secret

In a relatively short time, YouTube has become the repository of the entire recorded history of the human race. Its sheer gargantuan size means that millions of videos lurk out there beyond the Trending lists, just waiting to be discovered by the discerning time-waster, if only they knew the right keywords to enter. Damn the luck! Fortunately, Popwell is here with a monthly tidbit that you can enjoy right this very minute, in the privacy of your own home, yard, vehicle and/or workspace.

Summer is fast approaching, and for many that means breaks from school, vacations, trips to the beach and such. The rest of us see summer for what it really is: the season that Game of Thrones finally hits TV screens again. The hit HBO series’ seventh season begins on Sunday, July 16, and will race through a brief seven-episode run before disappearing for another year or more. All other summertime concerns are secondary.

Of course, the return of Game of Thrones promises to pull viewers back into its maelstrom of violence, betrayal, sex and dragons–as well as hopefully starting to clear up some of the mysteries that still abound throughout Westeros. Is Jon Snow the bastard son of Rhaegar and Lianna? Will Deanerys finally sit on the Iron Throne? Will Arya get her revenge on Cercei? (Yes, yes, and yes, BTW.)

Theories abound for each of these questions, as a quick Reddit or YouTube check will attest. One question that seems to have been definitively answered, however, involves the return of the prophesized god Azor Ahai. The legendary hero who wielded the magical sword Lightbringer, Azor Ahai will, according to prophecy, be brought back to life by the god R’hllor to fight the forces of darkness once again. But who could this mystical hero be?

Some will tell you that Jon Snow seems to be a leading candidate for the role, especially since he’s in so good with the Red Priestess Melisandre. Hold onto your shorts, though, because the video you are about to see blows such pedestrian theories out of the water. That’s because this month’s YouTube pick reveals the true identity of Azor Ahai: Ser Pounce. How could Tommen’s cat be the prophesized saviour of Westeros? Watch and all will be revealed!
