The Fishmonger’s Dilemma

Frederick was a fishmonger
He monged fish every day.
While monging along,
He’d sing a fishmongering song
In sunny skies or gray.

Freda loved her fishmonger
And altho’ weaving was her trade,
She gave up that life
To become a fishwife
Her fish soup was always homemade.

Bison was a fishmonger,
Frederick’s biggest rival.
In fishmongering chat rooms
And back alley bathrooms
Folks wondered about their survival.

mong2For mongering was a one-man show
At least, it was around those parts.
Frederick and Bison could not coexist
So Freda took out a Cease and Desist
Order from kindly Judge Robarts.

Bison had to leave the island
On a boat made out of fish.
Instead of ocean maps
He had to use turkey wraps
He’d no donuts, only knish.

Frederick and Freda jumped for joy
As happy fishmongers will.
But little did they suspect
That the place Bison’s boat wrecked
Was such a great place for growing dill.

In the end, Bison became one of the most successful dill growers in the area. The name Bison Farms became synonymous with fresh, high-quality organic dill–a reputation it keeps to this day.
